As an MSPP student, you will have opportunities to get involved with many extracurricular activities. I’ve blogged before about social gatherings, volunteering at interview days, community service, attending Continuing Education programs, Student Coordinating Committee meetings, and participating in the Lucero Run, but there is still so much more! Here are some little blurbs about other activities that go on during the school year:
-A luncheon for family members, loved ones, friends, veterans, or those currently serving in the military
- Community Service at The Food Project in March to prepare beds for spring planting (http://thefoodproject.org/)
-V-Day MSPP 2011 Presents a Benefit Reading of A MEMORY, A MONOLOGUE, A RANT AND A PRAYER: Writings To Stop Violence Against Women and Girls in April (Refreshments will be served)
-For Women’s History Month, students were given the opportunity to write about a woman that influenced them and responses will be posted on the MSPP webpage
-Meetings conducted by the Gay Straight Alliance
It has been my experience that for those who want to get involved, there are plenty of opportunities. And due to the nature of being in a small community, those who have new ideas are welcome to express them and most likely will see a new group, service project, or meeting come into existence!
